Launchpad Products
Launchpad is a hands-on gallery aimed at 8-14 year olds, visiting in family or school groups. It originally opened to the public in 1984 and has gone through several major changes. Following an 18 month complete redevelopment, the latest version of the gallery was opened in November 2007, with the aim to ofinspiring visitors to explore and question science and technology through hands-on experience of real phenomena in an environment that promotes curiosity.
The newly developed Launchpad interactive gallery met this aim and the gallery reached its 1 million visitor target within just 10 months of opening. Almost half of all visitors to the Science Museum visit Launchpad. Launchpad’s interactive exhibits are appealing, engaging and accessible for its target audiences, providing unique and memorable learning experiences which adults and children can share together.
