Milestone passed in Flying Scotsman restoration

The National Railway Museum has today announced that restoration work to return iconic locomotive Flying Scotsman to steam will continue, after a milestone moment in the project has been safely passed.
Colleges go loco for lighting events

The newly opened Da Vinci School of Creative Enterprise was announced as the winner of the Locos in a Different Light competition at the National Railway Museum in York late last night. The competition which saw colleges and universities get to grips with lighting up Mallard and its sister locomotives ran as part of the Illuminating York festival and the museum's Autumn Great Gathering.
Flying Scotsman restoration update

The National Railway Museum has today announced that work to complete the restoration to mainline operation of the iconic locomotive Flying Scotsman, will be undertaken by Riley & Son (E), Bury. The locomotive is moving from York to Bury today.
A Great Gathering of men who manned Mallard and sisters

In the lead up to its Mallard 75 celebrations, of which HRH, The Prince of Wales is Patron, the museum launched a search in late spring to find drivers and other crew that manned the footplate of the world's fastest locomotive and its sisters in their final decades on the tracks.
