The Dining Car Restaurant

Nestled between our stunning royal carriages, this restaurant creates a unique dining experience for either a leisurely lunch or a chance to enjoy our home baked cakes and fresh teas and coffees. Dine in a Victorian inspired 'dining car', or relax in a 1920s lounge.

The Courtyard

We've transformed part of our courtyard into a quirky outdoor container café. Inspired by the extraordinary shipping container cafes around the world, our unique café serves pizzas, ice cream, hot and cold drinks and is ideal for eating in the sunshine.

Countess of York (Opening November 2014)

Duchess of York - afternoon tea at the National Railway Museum

As part of our Courtyard improvements we will shortly be opening Countess of York. This exciting traditional dining carriage will open towards the end of the year for visitors to enjoy scrumptious afternoon tea or private fine dining.
