What is genetic engineering?
Researchers are breeding genetically modified (transgenic) organisms, for a variety of reasons. Some are studying human disease, while others are developing medicines. But many people are against using genetic engineering in medicine. Some are concerned about the safety of using engineered products. Many people feel it is wrong to use animals for the benefit of humans in this way.
