If you are a man who is starting to go bald, it is probably because you have inherited the tendency, from either your father or your mother. Although women can have a gene for baldness, they don't usually go bald because their female hormones protect them from it. However, they can pass on the gene to their male children. Also, it is possible for a father with a full head of hair to have a son whose hairline is receding.
