What is DNA sequencing?
Scientists took 13 years and over £200 million to sequence the complete human genome published in 2003. Now, sophisticated technology is making DNA sequencing dramatically faster and cheaper. In 2010 ‘second generation’ DNA sequencing machines could sequence a human genome in two weeks for about £100,000.
