The Science Museum Library's collection of works on microfilm covers a wide variety of subjects in the history of science, technology and medicine. It includes microfilms of:

  • individual books, theses and conference proceedings
  • periodicals and newspapers, notably The Times from 1788 onwards
  • The Eighteenth Century, science, technology and medicine reels
  • The Books of the Fairs from the Smithsonian Institution, covering national and international exhibitions
  • collections of reports, including NASA’s Aeronautics and Space Reports to Congress, 1958 1984
  • The Thomas A. Edison papers
  • Industrial Revolution: a documentary history, which includes the Boulton & Watt Archive from Birmingham Central Library
