Thirsty crops

The more crops we grow, the more water we'll need to feed them.

According to the International Water Management Institute, for every litre of biofuels we make, more than a thousand litres of fresh water evaporate into the air.

Agriculture already uses 70% of the world's fresh water. If we start growing even more crops for biofuels, experts are concerned we will put too much strain on our water supplies.
