Uniting particle families

But scientists aren't just looking for sparticles to help explain dark matter. At the moment, there seem to be two very different families of particles in the universe - 'matter' particles and 'force' particles.

'Matter' particles include electrons and quarks, the building blocks of protons and neutrons. These make up the 'solid' stuff in us and around us. 'Force' particles carry the forces of nature, such as electromagnetism.
