Bending a particle's path
One way of recognising different particles is by their charge. In a magnetic field, positively and negatively charged particles curve in opposite directions. The tracking chambers in the LHC's detectors are bathed in a strong magnetic field. The magnetic field bends the path of any charged particles that travel through it.
How does the tracking chamber 'see' some of the smallest particles on the planet?
