New test
Cancer spreads via the body's blood and lymphatic systems. So when surgeons remove breast tumours, they often remove all of the patient's underarm lymph glands too, just to be on the safe side.
Now a new cancer check could provide a less invasive treatment. According to trial surgeons it's just as reliable as conventional treatments - and patients seem to suffer fewer side effects.
