Rolling it out
Over the next two years, the trial researchers are going to use a similar training scheme to teach surgeons around the country. Antenna quizzed trial coordinator Julia Townson about the plans.
‘Now we’ve got the go-ahead to launch the programme nationwide. We hope to start in September this year and by the end of 2006 to have trained 350 surgeons to successfully perform sentinel node biopsy.‘
