Responsive building
The building's energy needs are fine-tuned by monitoring the temperature and the amount of carbon dioxide inside. Both increase if not enough fresh air is getting in, and this information feeds back to a control system, which responds by opening and closing windows and vents. The idea is to keep the temperature inside the building comfortable and keep energy use to a minimum.
The SSEES ventilation system really is a low-energy alternative to air conditioning.
