Build 'em up
The Peabody Trust has started using modular construction to build sustainable, high-density, inner-city homes in London. Barons Place is one of the latest projects.
The multi-storey block of one- and two-bedroom flats was built from different combinations of just a couple of standard modules, stacked together in a matter of days.
The steel frame of the modules themselves provides the strength, and accessways, like stairways and balconies, are clipped onto the outside of the building.
