What is the climate system?

The Earth's climate system is created by complex interactions between the Sun, our atmosphere, oceans, land and living things.

These interactions are affected by an area's latitude, elevation, terrain and distance from coasts, mountains and lakes.

It's a complicated system, and some parts - such as the exact effect of clouds - remain a mystery to scientists.
