Climate health check

As well as monitoring the environment and natural disasters, Envisat is going to look for signs of climate change using some of the most sophisticated and sensitive instruments ever.

Experts are already concerned that warmer seas are killing coral around the world. One of Envisat's ten sensors will measure sea surface temperature, providing crucial insights on ocean climate changes such as El Niņo.
