Almost half of the world's population live in the tropics. For years it's been unclear what the fate of equatorial regions would be under global warming - scorching heat, or cooler climes?

Now, Bristol climatologist Paul Pearson may have found the answer with the help of some
well-preserved microscopic fossils.
