A new science adventure is under way to find out where ocean algae live, and how much we've already lost. And it all relies on a yacht race. antenna met lead scientist Simon Boxall to find out more.

Why use a yacht race?

'We wanted to use something really exciting, useful and a bit different. It's a round-the-world race - we were hoping it will make people think globally, and think "Gosh, that's not science is it?"'
