Icy hot spot
The Antarctic peninsula is Antarctica's hot spot - in the last 50 years it's been one of three places in the world showing very rapid increases in temperature.
'There's no doubt that climate change is affecting the peninsula - and we're seeing melting of the ice shelves that surround it. But there's so little ice in this part of Antarctica that even if it melted, that wouldn't lead to widespread floods.'
