Water worries
The autumn 2000 floods affected around 10,000 homes and businesses across Britain, causing an estimated £1 billion worth of damage. And with scientists predicting milder, wetter winters on the way, there could be more in store. Meanwhile, other parts of the UK will suffer water shortages.
