Wrap up warm

You've got to keep cosy during dreary British winters, so insulate your home to keep the draughts out and your heating in. You know the drill - stop up gaps around your windows and doors, lag your loft and cram in cavity wall insulation. Draughts account for up to 20 per cent of heat loss at home, and uninsulated floors are a key culprit. So that's bad news for lovers of rustic wooden floorboards.
