Keep it local

Think twice before you jump in the car for the journey to school and back. Short car journeys - while your engine is still warming up - are the main offenders for producing buckets of climate-changing carbon dioxide. Maybe you could save some time and energy by sharing the school run with a neighbour.

Save on petrol by avoiding out-of-town stores and nipping to the local shops instead. If you've got the energy, you could even leave the car in the drive and test out your shoe leather or get on your bike.
