Safety fears
Despite a 100 per cent safety record over 25 years, worries about Concorde's safety began to rise as the aircraft got older.
On 25 July 2000 the fears became a reality when a French Concorde crashed in Paris. Concorde was grounded and the fleet underwent a series of modifications. The refurbished jets returned to the skies a year later.
But after the September 11 attacks on America in 2001, consumer confidence in air travel hit an all-time low. Concorde struggled to pull in the punters and reach her former heights.
