Taming the traffic

The capital's big traffic experiment kicked off at 07.00 on 17 February 2003. Drivers entering central London now have to pay £5 to enter the congestion zone between 07.00 and 18.30, Monday to Friday.

Think you can cheat the charge? Think again. The congestion zone is monitored by a network of
hi-tech cameras which make sure that nobody escapes paying their dues.
