Richard's team of materials scientists have created a circuit board made from soya-bean oils and chicken feathers - totally natural and renewable materials that stop us having to rely on plastics from oil.
They've also found a way to recycle some of the billion kilograms of waste chicken feathers produced every year in America - that's heavier than the QE2! Turning feathers into phone parts stops them being burned or buried.
