Closing the loop
Future biodegradable circuit boards could be recycled in a closed-loop way - products from biodegraded circuit boards could be used as nutrients to feed plant crops for new circuit boards.
'The products of biodegradation can be fed back into the food chain of the plants used to create the next generation of circuit boards,' explains Roger.
This would make biodegradable circuit boards more environmentally friendly to make and dispose of at the end of their life.
