Flameproof phones
You probably don't think of your phone or its charger as flammable - but that's only because manufacturers add chemicals to the plastic bits that are likely to feel the heat.
Flame retardants are the fire fighters of your phone - but they can be pretty nasty. Strict new guidelines, called Restriction of the use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) will limit the amount of chemicals that can be used, and some of the old additives have now been outlawed.
