It's all relative

In space a centimetre isn't always a centimetre and a second isn't always a second. In Einstein's theory of general relativity, space and time can be stretched, squeezed, twisted and dragged.

According to Einstein's general theory of relativity gravity is caused by this stretching of space. The Earth bends space around it, like a weight on a trampoline, and we are falling down the 'slope' created.
