Exclusive display

The electronic contact lens will house a display screen just 1.2 mm across, packed with LEDs to generate detailed images or text right in front of your eyes.

The same Wi-Fi technology that lets laptop users roam will download new data for your lenses on demand.

The lenses are powered by radio waves, which they pick up from their surroundings using tiny on-board antennas. The next model should simply run on light collected by minute solar cells, and could ultimately have a zoom function added.
