Rescuing the rescuers
The Guardian robots have been designed with one main function in mind - keeping firefighters safe. Up to 50 mini-robots will work with a few larger robots to tell firefighters where nearby obstacles are, if there are any dangerous fumes and, most importantly, where a safe exit route is.
These robots will free up firefighters' time - giving them longer to search a building for survivors - and watch their backs at the same time.
