Does flying cost the Earth?
Can technology help make planes greener?
Source: easyJet
The aviation industry has set ambitious targets to help tackle the problem that flying poses for climate change. By 2020 it wants new planes to have halved the amount of CO2 they emit and cut other climate-changing gases - such as nitrogen oxides - by up to 80%.
There are lots of different ideas to help planes cut emissions, from making aircraft lighter, more aerodynamic and more energy efficient, to using greener fuels.
