Where does Polar fit in?

To ensure the Biobank samples don't deteriorate, a temperature of -80 °C is essential - any hotter and the biological material starts to break down. To achieve this teeth-chattering temperature, the team behind Polar have invented a hi-tech cooling method using liquid nitrogen. This means no damaging temperature variations and improved energy efficiency.
