The big chill

-80 °C... Blimey, that's cold!

Yes - too cold for any human to work in, which means sorting the samples could be a little tricky. So the Polar team have designed a robot that can do the work without the risk of frostbite. Samples are stored in a total of nine cooled compartments, each about 3-4 metres long. The robot moves the samples in and out when they're needed.
