Funky fungus
Malaria is one of the most serious infectious diseases on Earth. Every year 1 million people die from the disease, which is spread by the humble mosquito.
The pesky malaria parasite has evaded control, despite our best efforts. But this could soon change thanks to an unlikely new ally... a fungus. Several teams of scientists have now used a fungus that attacks mosquitoes, with dramatic results.
