Over to Rover
Two NASA craft - Mars Global Surveyor and Mars Odyssey - are already in Martian orbit. And the Americans are launching two rover missions this month. The Mars Exploration Rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, will land on Mars shortly after Beagle 2.
The little robot geologists can move right up to interesting rocks for a closer look. They will study two Martian sites that might have contained water in the past.
