Wakefield's expertise
You may have heard the name, but who exactly is Andrew Wakefield and how did he become so well known?
He's a gastroenterologist - an expert in bowel disorders. He's spent most of his career investigating problems on our insides at a world-class gastroenterology unit at the Royal Free Hospital in London.
Over the years, Wakefield has been especially interested in theories of how gut tissue might be affected by measles virus. So why is he famous?
