What is DTP?

'DTP vaccine combats three diseases: diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis, better known as whooping cough. Pertussis rivals measles as a killer in the developing world, infecting millions of children and killing hundreds of thousands every year.

'DTP was introduced to the UK in the 1950s and seemed a success story. Within a decade, the vaccine was preventing two in every three whooping cough cases.'
