What's the problem with singles?

'Two doses of MMR vaccine are recommended to ensure high protection, so if you follow Andrew Wakefield's advice, giving the single vaccines would take 5 years, and mean giving 6 jabs when it could have been just 2. From a practical point of view that becomes difficult for many parents and is unpleasant for children.

'But more importantly, because there's a gap between the doses, protection is delayed and the infections can continue to circulate amongst us.'
