Why is vaccination important?
Vaccination has been one of the miracles of modern medicine and has saved more lives than any other medical intervention. Diseases such as diphtheria, polio and smallpox have been virtually eradicated thanks to vaccination.
All vaccines come with some risks and side effects just like any other medicine. But these are usually mild when compared to the diseases' side effects. In the developing world, thousands of children die every year because they don't have access to vaccines or good medical treatment.
