Carbon nanotubes

At the University of Surrey scientists are researching using tiny carbon nanotubes to act like nano-sized cathode-ray tubes.

Each of the millions of carbon nanotubes can fire electrons at the screen to make it light up. It means that you wouldn't need that huge bit sticking out at the back of your telly. Your screen could be as thin as a magazine. Samsung already have a working prototype that shows full colour and is 38 inches wide.
