Light paint, heavy savings
Some industries are using nanotechnology to develop new types of paint. These paints are much stronger and lighter than traditional coatings. They can be used on boats and aeroplanes to make them weigh less and use less fuel. What's more, they won't need to be painted as often.
And fuel efficiency could be boosted further with the use of special nanolubricants which reduce friction in engines and moving parts.
