Cleaning up
At the nano-scale, materials become very reactive. Scientists are working on ways to exploit this to clean up the environment. Three ideas that they have come up with are nanoparticles that can travel through soil collecting contaminants such as tar and residues from old gas works, paint that can clean up polluted air, and filters that can make water drinkable.
So, could nanotechnology be the answer to global pollution?
