The research robot
Scientists at the University of Hertfordshire are teaching Nao to learn. 'We study how young children learn and write computer programs for Nao to see if he can learn in the same way,' explains robot scientist Antoine Hiolle.
'If we show Nao a selection of toys from a children's play mat, he starts to recognise the ones he has seen before. When he sees an object he's unfamiliar with, he shows surprise.'
