Minds and machines
Ever felt that machines have a mind of their own? In fact, scientists are working to harness your brain activity to control machinery and household gadgets. New medical technologies have already enabled paralysed people to operate electronic devices with their thoughts alone.
With clever enough technology, experts hope to give disabled people control over wheelchairs and prosthetic limbs using brain-machine interfaces. The emergency services and army could use similar technology to access dangerous locations with mind-controlled robot scouts.
