Mind control
The ultimate goal for many paralysed people is to be able to move their own bodies. Doctors can already use a technique called functional electrical stimulation (FES) to stimulate paralysed people's muscles with electrodes, making their limbs move again.
Now scientists are looking at ways for paralysed people to control FES with their brains. Researchers are starting to use brain caps and chips to give paralysed people mind control over their muscles.
