Although marketers coined the name 'neuromarketing' in the late 1990s, the idea of using medical technology to find out what turns consumers' heads can be traced back over 30 years. In the early 1970s an American researcher called Herbert Krugman used EEG to monitor people's brain waves to assess their responses to TV commercials.
