A bit of a buzz
In 2004 Lisa Marshall invited 18 men to an unusual sleepover - volunteering for memory experiments at the University of Lübeck, Germany. While they slept, she stimulated their brains with a mild electrical current, and found it improved their memory.
'It's a simple method - we'd have to work out how to prevent misuse or injury, but I do believe that you could increase memory a little bit,' Marshall says.
