Balancing the brain
Some scientists say there is evidence that a technique called electroencephalogram (EEG) neurofeedback could help children with ADHD. This ingenious process involves patients seeing their own brain's activity on a screen, or represented as sounds, and then trying to influence it by the way they think.
Recent research suggests that children with ADHD have a different pattern of brain waves compared with children without the condition - too much of one type of brain wave, and not enough of another. Could EEG neurofeedback help balance out their brains?
