Room for optimism?

'It's been difficult to find good solid evidence that TMS really works in depression,' says Vincent Walsh, a TMS expert from University College London. 'I'm an optimist though - it should work in principle.'

Walsh says that scientists and doctors are often looking for different success rates in their experiments, but if they can work together more closely, the outlook for TMS in depression may be more positive in the future.
