Increasing intelligence
At the moment, Gordon can only sense his surroundings using his sonar system. The next step is to equip him with infrared and audio, and maybe even give him the ability to 'talk' back to the researchers.
'Ultimately I'd like to develop Gordon to the stage where we could put him head to head with a real rat in a maze and see how they compare,' says Ben Whalley.
